Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kognitif Anak dalam Mengenal Angka melalui Media Kincir Jepit di Anak Kelompok A TK Yapita Surabaya
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify and describe the improvement in children's ability to recognize numbers through the use of the "Kincir Jepit" media in Group A children at TK Yapita Surabaya. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles with 15 children as research subjects. The data collection techniques include observation and documentation analysis. Both Cycle I and Cycle II were carried out over three meetings each. In each cycle, activities involved using the "Kincir Jepit" media to match numbers with the corresponding number of images and to recognize numbers 1-5. Additionally, children's activities were observed to gather data for analysis to determine their improvement in understanding numerical concepts and basic counting. The research findings indicate an improvement in children's understanding. In Cycle I, children's number recognition activity reached 52,3%, which means the study’s success criteria had not yet been met, leading to the continuation of Cycle II. In Cycle II, the percentage of children's number recognition activity reached 86%, demonstrating an improvement. The conclusion drawn from the study is that the use of "Kincir Jepit" media can enhance children's ability to recognize numbers at TK Yapita Surabaya.
