Improving Storytelling Skills of 3-4 year Old Children Through the Book Time Methods at the Pos Paud Terpadu Dahlia Lakarsantri

Abstract

This research aims to improve  storytelling skills through the Book Time method. The methodology used in this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research subject  were 20 children aged 3-4 years from  group Moon  at the Post PAUD Terpadu Dahlia  Lakarsantri for the 2024-2025 academic year The data collection technique used in this research were observation and documentation in from  photos of children's activities during the learning process. The data analysis technique in this research  uses quantitative descriptive analysis. Identified by children's storytelling abilities such as vocabulary, ability to sequence stories, and the use of verbal and non-verbal expressions which increased after implementing the Book Time method, and analyzing storytelling learning activities using the Book Time method. The results of research showed in cycle 1. that there was in increase in children’s storytelling abilities  1, there were 69.7% whose literacy skills had been completed. Teacher activities amount to 87.5%. Student activity is 66.3 .%.From the results of cycle 1, it was found that children’s storytelling ability had not reached 75% so it was continued to cycle 2.  The results of research showed in cycle 1. that there was in increase in children’s storytelling abilities  1, there were 69.7% whose literacy skills had been completed. Teacher activities amount to 87.5%. Student activity is 66.3 .%.From the results of cycle 1, it was found that children’s storytelling ability had not reached 75%. The results of research showed in cycle 2. that there was in increase in children’s storytelling abilities  1, there were 76.3 % whose literacy skills had been completed. Teacher activities amount to 88.9%. Student activity is 79.7 .%. Then cycle 2 it increased in percentage terminitially  69.7.% became 76.3% or increased 6.6%. .From the description above, it can conclude that Book Time Methods can improve storytelling skills in children aged 3-4  at Pos PAUD Terpadu Dahlia.
