Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve children's cognitive abilities in recognizing colors through color play
activities. The research subjects were children at the Pelita Bangsa Sambikerep Integrated PAUD Post, Surabaya with
a total of 12 children, consisting of 7 boys and 5 girls. This research was motivated by the fact that children's ability to
recognize, name and differentiate colors is still very low. This research was carried out in two cycles. The results of the
study showed that children's cognitive abilities increased by playing with colors by 83%. This increase is reflected in
children's improvement when answering questions about various colors and grouping appropriate colors well and
without hesitation. From the description above, it can be concluded that color playing activities can improve children's
ability to recognize colors at the Pelita Bangsa Sambikerep PAUD Post Surabaya. It is recommended that color play
activities be implemented on an ongoing basis to improve children's cognitive abilities, especially in recognizing colors
in children at Integrated PAUD Posts.
