Abstract
This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years through the use of shirt button media. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR) with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were children aged 5–6 years at TK Tanwirul Afkar, Pakal - Surabaya. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques. The results show that using shirt button media in various activities, such as buttoning and unbuttoning on both model shirts and real clothing, can enhance children's fine motor skills. Moreover, this media also improves children's concentration, hand-eye coordination, and perseverance in completing tasks. Therefore, the use of shirt button media can be an effective and enjoyable alternative for stimulating the development of fine motor skills in children aged 5–6 years.
Fine motor skills are an essential aspect of early childhood development, especially within the 5–6 years age range. These skills can be developed through various engaging and developmentally appropriate learning media.
