Meningkatkan Kemampuan Sosial Anak Dalam Pengenalan Siaga Bencana Melalui Simulasi Kebakaran
Abstract
This study aims to improve early childhood social skills in disaster preparedness through the fire simulation method at TK Bina Anaprasa Tambak Wedi Surabaya. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The study involved 20 children as research subjects, consisting of 10 boys and 10 girls. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. Results of the first cycle showed that children's social skills in terms of communication, cooperation, and empathy reached 60%, 40%, and 40%, respectively. After reflection and improvements in learning strategies, the second cycle results showed a significant increase to 85% in communication skills, 85% in cooperation, and 95% in empathy. These findings indicate that the fire simulation method is effective in developing young children's social skills and fostering disaster preparedness behavior from an early age.
