Abstract
Abstract
The ability to recognize vowels is an important aspect in the development of early childhood literacy. However, many children aged 3-4 years have difficulty in recognizing vowels. This study aims to improve the ability to recognize vowels through Boxing Vowel media at the Bunga Siwalan Integrated PAUD Post. The method used is classroom action research (PTK) model Kemmis & McTaggart in two cycles, with 20 children as subjects. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive approaches. The results of the study showed an increase in children's ability to recognize vowels. In cycle I, the percentage of children who recognized vowels well reached 60%. Reflection on cycle I showed that children still needed visual reinforcement and variations in games. In cycle II, the percentage increased to 85%. The conclusion of this study is that Boxing Vowel media is effective in improving the ability to recognize vowels and children's enthusiasm. PAUD educators are advised to apply this media in early literacy learning.
