Abstract

This research aims to improve the speaking skills of young children at Dwi Warna Jaya Kindergarten through telling stories using Pop Up Book media. The speaking ability in question is the ability possessed by children to convey their thoughts, ideas and feelings through clearly articulated voices with simple word and sentence structures. Meanwhile, pop up books themselves are currently one of the book media that is more popular with young children because they present unique and interesting three-dimensional images. This research is a classroom action research type where the teacher acts as a researcher and observer in it. It took three months from January to March for the two skills with research results that with the storytelling method using pop up book media children's speaking ability increased with the number of children entering the proficient category at 85% while the rest were in the proficient category.
