MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERHITUNG ANAK MELALUI MEDIA CONGKLAK KELOMPOK B DI TK MIFTAHUL ULUM KOTA SURABAYA
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the traditional congklak game on the numeracy skills of early childhood children. This study was conducted at Miftahul Ulum Kindergarten Surabaya because the researcher as an educator at the school had conducted learning activities with congklak media. The study was conducted using the classroom action research method which was carried out to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process by making changes towards improving the approach, methods and learning strategies so as to improve the process and results of learning education. The results showed a significant increase from cycle 1 to cycle 2. Teacher activity increased from 49% in cycle 1 to 75% in cycle 2, with an increase of 26%. Children's activity also increased from 53% in cycle 1 to 82% in cycle 2, with an increase of 29%. Furthermore, children's abilities experienced a very significant spike, namely from 54% in cycle 1 to 82% in cycle 2, with an increase of 28%. Based on the results of the research and discussion in this study, it can be concluded that the arithmetic ability of group B children at Miftahul Ulum Kindergarten Surabaya can be improved using congklak media in the learning process by each child recognizing the numbers 1-20 directly and classifying them according to the teacher's instructions, namely recognizing the numbers 1-12, adding the numbers 1-20 and subtracting the numbers 1-20.
