Abstract

The snake and ladder number game media is one of the efforts to improve the ability to recognize numbers and simple

addition calculations at RA Tarbiyatush Shibyan Semampir Surabaya. The purpose of this study is to explore how

effective the snake and ladder method is in improving cognitive abilities in early childhood. The research method used

is Classroom Action Research (CAR) through 2 cycles. The focus of the research in each cycle uses the Kemmis & MC

Taggart Arikunto model which consists of planning (Planning); action (Acting); observation (Observing); and reflection

(Reflecting). The results of the study showed a significant increase from cycle 1 to cycle 2. Teacher activity increased

by 27%, and children's activity increased by 25%. Based on the analysis that has been done, the snake and ladder number

game media is very effective in improving the ability to recognize numbers in early childhood.
