Peningkatan Perkembangan Kognitif Mengenal Bentuk Geometri Melalui Media Balok Usia 3-4 Tahun di PPT Beji Bersemi Surabaya
Abstract
This research is motivated by the lack of development of children's cognitive abilities in recognizing geometric shapes in PPT Beji Bersemi Surabaya in the activity of recognizing and sequencing geometric blocks. The purpose of this study is to describe the activities of teachers and children as well as the improvement of children's cognitive abilities in recognizing geometric shapes through the medium of blocks. The method used is class action research (PTK) with a four-stage design, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation and documentation. The results of the study showed an increase in children's cognitive ability in recognizing geometric shapes. In cycle I, the percentage of achievement was 47%, while in cycle II it increased to 87%, with an increase of 40%. In conclusion, learning using block media is very effective in improving cognitive abilities in early childhood. Thus, the learning objectives are achieved.
