Abstract

Based on problems observed by the researcher at the teaching site, it was found that children experienced difficulties in maintaining body balance. Therefore, a study was conducted as an effort to improve body balance in children aged 3–4 years through a circuit play activity called "Jajijatimelomsaki," an acronym for Tiptoe Walking, Walking on a Beam, and Hopping on One Foot. The aim of this research is to enhance the body balance of children aged 3–4 years. The subjects of the study were 10 children, consisting of 6 boys and 4 girls, and the research was carried out at PPT Cahaya Mentari Surabaya, where the researcher teaches. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, implemented over two cycles. The stages of the CAR method include Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. In the planning stage, the researcher prepared teaching modules, created and set up tools and materials for the circuit play activity, and prepared observation sheets, teacher activity sheets, and child activity sheets. Data collection techniques included observation and documentation. The pre-cycle observation showed that 30,6% of the children were able to maintain their body balance. After the treatment in Cycle I, this increased to 51,33%, and in Cycle II, it improved to 84,83%. These results indicate an improvement in the children’s body balance following the implementation of both treatment cycles.
