MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MENGENAL ANGKA MELALUI MEDIA LOOSE PART PADA ANAK KELOMPOK B DI TK MUTIARA HATI SURABAYA
Abstract
This research is motivated by the low ability of children in recognizing numbers, as indicated by the fact that many children are still unable to correctly mention, recognize, and associate number symbols with the corresponding quantities of objects. This study aims to determine teacher activities, children's activities, and the improvement of number recognition skills through the use of loose parts media. The research design used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study were 17 children of Group B at Mutiara Hati Kindergarten, Surabaya. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and field notes. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods, with a minimum success indicator of 75% of children achieving the category of Developing as Expected (BSH) or Developing Very Well (BSB). The results of the study show that the use of loose parts media can improve both teacher and children's activities in the learning process. Teacher activities became more structured and varied, while children's activities became more active, enthusiastic, and directly involved in learning. In addition, children's number recognition ability showed significant improvement from the pre-action stage to Cycle I and Cycle II, reaching classical completeness above 75%.
