Meningkatkan Kemampuan Motorik Halus Melalui Kegiatan Finger Painting Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun di TK Dharma Putra Surabaya
Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the extent to which finger painting activities can improve the fine motor skills of 5-6 year old children at Dharma Putra Kindergarten in Surabaya. The approach used was a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a one group pretest-posttest
model. The research subjects consisted of 14 children in group B. Data collection was carried out through observation activities with the help of a child's fine motor skills assessment sheet. Furthermore, the data obtained was analyzed using the paired sample t-test and Wilcoxon test. The results showed that after participating in finger painting activities, the children's fine motor skills improved. This was evident from the higher posttest average score compared to the pretest, as well as the statistical test results, which showed a significant difference. Finger painting activities were proven to help children train their eye-hand coordination, increase finger flexibility, and control fine movements more optimally. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that finger painting activities have a positive effect on the fine motor development of children aged 5–6 years. Therefore, early childhood teachers are advised to utilize this activity as a creative, interesting, and enjoyable learning alternative for children.
