Abstract
This research aims to improve the fine motor skills of 5-6 year old children through play-dough activities. Fine motor skills are the coordination of small muscle movements, such as those of the fingers and wrists, which are crucial for a child's readiness to write. The background of this research is the continued observation of children experiencing difficulties in finger coordination. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of two cycles. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 15 children in group B. Data collection techniques included observation sheets and documentation. The research results indicate a significant improvement in the children's fine motor skills. In the pre-cycle, classical mastery was only 30%. After the intervention in Cycle I, the percentage increased to 55%, and reached 85% by the end of Cycle II. Therefore, play-dough activities have proven effective in improving finger muscle flexibility and hand-eye coordination in early childhood.
