Abstract

This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of children aged 5-6 years through the application of modified dakon games. The background of this research is based on the still low ability of children to carry out activities that involve eye and hand coordination, such as holding small objects, moving dakon seeds, and controlling finger movements precisely. The research method used is Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) which is carried out in 2 cycles, including the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The research subjects were group B children aged 5-6 years in TK Andayani totaling 20 children. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and child development research sheets. The results showed that the modified Dakon game significantly improved children's fine motor skills. In cycle I, some children began to show progress, but had not yet achieved optimal success indicators. In cycle II, there was a better improvement marked by increased accuracy, eye and hand coordination, and flexibility of children's fingers in the game. the modified dakon game is effectively used as a learning tool to develop fine motor skills in children aged 5-6 years.
