Upaya Meningkatkan Kemampuan Mengenal Angka 1-10 Melalui Penggunaan Stik Angka Pada Kelompok A Di TK Al Hidayah Arjasa
Abstract
Pupils’ poor numeracy skills are usually caused by monotonous teaching methods. This study aims to improve pupils’ ability to recognise the numbers 1–10 by using ‘Number Sticks’, a teaching aid adapted to the characteristics of young children who enjoy playing. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) project using a quantitative approach. The research subjects were 23 pupils in Class A. Data were collected via pre-test and post-test instruments to measure the children’s cognitive abilities before and after the use of the teaching aid. The pre-test results showed that only 5 children (21.7%) recognised numbers well. After using the number stick medium over three sessions, the pupils’ abilities improved significantly; 18 children achieved the ‘Developing as Expected’ (BSH) category, with a class success rate of 78%. The children showed high enthusiasm and were able to sequence numbers independently. The number stick media effectively improved the cognitive and numeracy skills of young children. This learning approach, based on educational aids, was able to create a fun learning atmosphere whilst eliminating boredom among the pupils.
