PENGARUH MEDIA BALOK ANGKA WARNA-WARNI TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOGNITIF ANAK KELOMPOK A DI TK DHARMA WANITA

Abstract

Penelitian pada anak kelompok A di TK Dharma Wanita Ngrame Pungging Mojokerto, dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan kognitif anak dalam membilang lambang bilangan dan mengurutkan urutan bilangan masih perlu ditingkatkan. Padahal anak pada usia 4-5 tahun diharapkan sudah dapat mengenal dan mengurutkan bilangan 1-10. Media pembelajaran yang digunakan di TK tersebut kurang, disebabkan guru hanya menggunakan LKA. Kemampuan kognitif khususnya membilang lambang bilangan dan mengurutkan lambang bilangan dapat dikembangkan melalui media balok angka warna-warni. Media ini terbuat dari kayu, terdiri dari 10 unit balok bermacam-macam warna dan setiap balok mempunyai ukuran yang berbeda.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media balok angka warna-warni terhadap kemampuan kognitif anak di TK Dharma Wanita Ngrame Pungging Mojokerto.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Desain eksperimen yang digunakan yaitu pre-eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian one-grup pretest-posttest design. Subyek penelitian ini anak kelompok A dengan jumlah 24 anak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji jenjang bertanda Wilcoxon dengan rumus Thitung < Ttabel. Jika Thitung < Ttabel maka penelitian ini signifikan adanya pengaruh media balok angka warna-warni terhadap kemampuan kognitif anak.

Berdasarkan hasil analisis data tentang kemampuan kognitif anak kelompok A pada saat sebelum diberikan perlakuan (pre-test) dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan (post-test) dengan media balok angka warna-warni diperoleh nilai pre-test 130 dan nilai post-test 184. Hasil analisis data uji Wilcoxon diperoleh bahwa Thitung = 0 < Ttabel = 0,81dan hasil pengambilan keputusan: nilai Thitung < Ttabel dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05% yaitu 0 < 0,81, maka hasil pengambilan keputusan adalah Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Simpulan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan media balok angka warna-warni terhadap kemampuan kognitif anak kelompok A di TK Dharma Wanita Ngrame Pungging Mojokerto.

Abstract

Early age child was an individual who was getting growth and development process (Golden period) that was a worth age compared to the next age. Appropriate with the writer’s observation in TK Dharma Wanita Ngrame village Pungging district Mojokerto, especially group A, the writer found that the children’s cognitive ability in recognizing number symbol and ordering number was still low. Whereas children in 4-5years old was hoped that they had already been able to recognize and to order number 1-10. In addition many learning medias were in kindergarten but colorful number bar media had different from other medias. Thus media was made of wood it consisted of 10 units of various color bar and each bar had different size.

The purpose of this research was to know the the influence of colorful number bar media toward children’s cognitive ability in TK Dharma Wanita Ngrame village Pungging district Mojokerto. The kind of research used was pre-experiment with One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The subject was group A, 24 children. The data collection methods were observation and documentation as the support data only and the analysis data technique used range test was test signed wilxocon by formula Thitung < Ttable.

Based on the research about the influence of the usage of colorful number bar media toward children’s cognitive ability it was obtained the difference of children before and after giving treatment by colorful number bar media and after being analyzed by helper table of wilcoxon sign test it was obtained that Tcounted< Ttable (0<0,81 so that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted. In this way, the research hypothesis which said “there was significant influence of colorful number bar media usage toward children’s cognitive ability in TK Dharma Wanita Ngrame village Pungging district Mojokerto” had been proved .
