Abstract

This study focuses on te discussion of the nature and functionreferencedeixis person and demonstrativepronomen because deixis person closely related to communication in a conversation on literature and demonstrativpronomen as a personal pronoun in the deixis person. The study is titled “ Deixis person and demonstrativpronomen in a novel “Nie wie der ein Wort davon?” created by Barbara Gehrts. This study uses the novel because the author uses the viewpoint of the main characterin telling the story in his work.

   The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative because it shows german language words containing deixis person and demontrativpronomen, as well asclassified by nature of the referral (eksofora and endofora) and by function deixis and demontrativpronomen in the novel.

   Research conclusion that deixis persona and demontrativpronomen have character eksofora and endofora.Demontrativpronomen words can be the deixis persona words.Because demontrativpronomen words could replace the word in a sentence
