Abstrak

The research objective was to determine the results of the application of houte couture or adibusana in the design of Lampung bride's clothing as an effort to preserve the cultural heritage of the ancestors, namely maju melinting pesisir, maju tingkat suku tulang bawang, dan maju kanduk tutup tingkat suku maju tuho. This fashion design method uses Transforming Tradition with the aim of producing new object that still have a common thread with the transformed tradition. there are eight important stages in this method, namely ATUMICS (Artefac, Technique, Utility, Material, Icon, Concept, and Shape). Based on the results of the design carried out, 6 evening gown designs and 4 shoe designs were obtained, and 2 bags. These collections require approximately 400 meters of gold thread, 1258 meters of textile pipes, 480 individual flowers of textile pipes, thousands of sequins and Swarovski. The process of uniting this collection took approximately 2000 hours with a total of 2 tailors, 3 intestinal embroidery craftsmen, 2 tapis embroidery craftsmen, 2 sequin embroidery craftsmen. The transformation of bridal clothing takes the icon of bird wings from bird bracelet accessories, the icon of cempaka flowers from siger, the tapis mata kibau motif from maju tingkat suku bridal clothing, the cempaka floral motif from sembagi batik and adopts colors that match the clothing.
