Abstract

This study discusses Linguistic Strategies where the purpose of this research is to find out the variations of linguistic strategies used and to elaborate on the realization of the use of linguistic strategies on the official website of Deutsche Welle. This research uses descriptive qualitative. Data taken from the Deutsche Welle website, 4 articles found on this website. The researcher found several linguistic strategy findings. There are two variations of language strategies, namely persuasive strategies and informative strategies. The linguistic strategy is divided into two strategies, namely an informative strategy with 2 articles and a persuasive strategy with 2 articles. In the study, the majority of data were obtained, namely persuasive linguistic strategies as much as 65.5%. Realization of the use of linguistic strategies on the official website of Deutsche Welle is used in interactional metadiscourse. The metadiscourse consists of articles Hedges 8, Boosters 6, Self-mentions 1, Attitude markers 5 and Engagement Markers 9. The realization of the use of linguistic strategies used in elections on the Deutsche Welle website is Engagement markers which are realized 31% and Hedges as much as 27.5 % on the official Deutsche Welle website.
