PENANDA DAN PETANDA KONJUNGSI PADA KOMIK CITY TALES

Abstract

Comics are a composition of images and words that aim to provide information to the reader. In order for the information contained in comics to be well channeled to readers, knowledge of the structure and meaning of sentences is very important. Markers and signifiers are two things that make it easier for readers to understand the discourse text in comics. The signifier is a sound image that can be realized into words, while the signifier is the concept contained in the signifier. Signifier and signified that can be a tool to connect words, phrases, and sentences are called conjunctions. This research aims to describe the function of conjunction signifier and signified based on Duden Grammatik and Eva breindl's theory. This
research uses descriptive qualitative with documentation technique for data collection. The data obtained in this research are sentences that are detected to contain conjunctions. The results in this study show that from the five comics studied, the conjunctions found have functions that are in accordance with the theory that researchers found. In the analysis from the syntactic perspective, the results are grouped into four sentence structures namely mittelfeld, nacherstposition, nullposition, and vorfeld. While the analysis from the semantic perspective is divided into two types, namely conjunction and subjunction.
