Anxiety is a subjective experience of mental tension and pressure accompanied by conflict or threat. This study aims to describe the types of anxiety based on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory and the impact of the anxiety experienced by Katja, the main character in the film Aus dem Nichts. This research employs a literary psychology analysis using Freud's theory of anxiety, which categorizes anxiety into three types: realistic anxiety, neurotic anxiety, and moral anxiety. The dialogues and scenes depicted in the film, as well as the film script, can reflect Katja’s behavior as she experiences anxiety. The approach used in this research is qualitative, with data sources coming from the film and its script. The data collected consists of scenes from the film and dialogues from the script that demonstrate Katja's anxiety. Data collection was carried out by watching and observing the film, noting and marking the scenes and dialogues that indicate anxiety, coding them, and entering them into a data table. The
collected data was then analyzed and explained by describing the findings and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that Katja, as the main character, experiences two types of anxiety, with 6 instances of realistic anxiety and 6 instances of neurotic anxiety. Regarding the impact of anxiety, 11 instances were found based on what Katja, as the main character, experienced.
