Abstract

This research focuses on the exploration of heuristic meaning in poetry by Friedrich Schiller. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with heuristic approach developed by Michael Riffaterre. The research data was analyzed through the heuristic approach to Schiller's poem, An die Freude. The results show that each poem contains deep meaning related to the universal theme of the world and human life. For example, ‘An die Freude’ celebrates universal happiness. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the relevance of human values in Schiller's poetry, and confirms the importance of the heuristic approach in uncovering the layers of meaning within.
