Abstract
This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the conflict experienced by the character Gerd Wiesler in the film Das Leben der Anderen using Kurt Lewin’s conflict theory. The analysis focuses on the classification of conflict types and their resolutions. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through literature study, including theoretical reviews and other relevant sources. The analysis was conducted by observing scenes and dialogues in the film that illustrate conflict, which were then classified based on the conflict types according to Kurt Lewin. The findings indicate that the dominant conflict is the approach-avoidance conflict, which reflects the tension between personal impulses and systemic pressures. From the analyzed conflicts, three positive (+) valences were identified as forms of conflict resolution experienced by the main character
