TYPES OF LOAN WORDS IN INSTAGRAM POSTS @SEBAMED.DE

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of loanwords found in video posts on the Instagram account @Sebamed.de. Loanwords are words that are included in the lexical elements analyzed in the field of stylistics. The use of loanwords is intended as a tool to enrich meaning in the process of language communication. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach using documentation and analysis methods based on Haugen's theory (1950). The results obtained in this study show that there are three types of loanwords used in the data. These are loanwords that do not undergo phonemic substitution, loanwords that undergo partial phonemic substitution, and loanwords that undergo complete phonemic substitution. Loanwords are used to make it easier for language speakers to understand specific terms that do not yet have equivalents in German.
