PENANDA KOHESI REKURRENZ DALAM ARTIKEL UMWELTBUNDESAMT
Abstract
This study aims to describe the use of Rekurrenz as a cohesion marker in environmental-themed articles published on the official website of Umweltbundesamt (the German Federal Environment Agency). The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data consist of linguistic units indicating the use of Rekurrenz found in five environmental articles published by Umweltbundesamt in 2024. Data analysis is conducted based on the cohesion theory proposed by Linke (2001) and the concept of textual cohesion by Beaugrande and Dressler (1981). The results show that Rekurrenz is consistently used to maintain topical continuity and strengthen textual cohesion. Lexical repetition of key environmental terms functions to emphasize the focus of discussion, clarify references, and establish connections between sentences and paragraphs. These findings indicate that Rekurrenz plays a significant role in shaping textual cohesion in Umweltbundesamt articles, resulting in discourse that is more structured, informative, and accessible to readers.
