Kohesi Pronomina pada Teks Berita "Die Zeit" edisi Februari 2025

Abstract

Research on cohesion is an interesting topic to study in German linguistics, due to the flexible nature of the German language and its strict and complex grammar. Cohesion in the German language functions uniquely; not only does the word order determine the relationships between elements in a German sentence, but there are also grammatical markers that bind them together. In this study, the researcher will conduct an analysis of pronominal reference cohesion in Die Zeit news texts. The aim of this research is to describe the forms and types of pronominal reference cohesion in Die Zeit news texts. The analysis method used in this study is Descriptive-Qualitative with a reading-note technique. This technique involves reading the locations of pronominal reference cohesion in the Die Zeit news texts. The researcher then interprets the pronominal reference cohesion markers. The source of data and the data itself are
in the form of news articles taken from the online news site Die Zeit, February 2025 edition, titled Ist der Guardiola Fußball noch zeitgemäß. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be stated that the pronouns used as markers of grammatical cohesion related to reference cohesion can change pronouns (Er, sie, es, die, and man). These reference cohesion markers can be endophoric and exophoric. The endophoric pronouns in this study consist of Er, sie, es, and die. Meanwhile, the exophoric pronouns include man and es.
