This study aims to describe the characteristics of the character Marwood in the drama Miss Sara Sampson by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. This study is motivated by the complexity of the character Marwood as an antagonist who has a strong psychological conflict and is not described directly by the author, but through dialogue and interaction between characters. The study uses Albertine Minderop's characterization theory (2011) with a focus on indirect characterization. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method. The research data source is the drama manuscript Miss Sara Sampson (1755) by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing. The research data are in the form of dialogue excerpts that show the characteristics of the character Marwood. Data collection techniques are carried out through intensive reading, recording, and classifying data based on indirect characterization categories. Data analysis techniques are carried out by describing and interpreting data based on Minderop's characterization theory. The results of the study show that the characteristics of the character Marwood are built through 37 dialogue excerpts analyzed using indirect characterization. The data consists of 11 action and behavior data, 15 vocabulary data, and 10 other character reaction data.
