International Journal of Community Service and Engagement (IJCSE) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA). Established in 2026, the journal is published twice a year, in April and November, and all articles are made available electronically through the Open Journal Systems (OJS).
IJCSE is dedicated to disseminating high-quality knowledge and evidence derived from community service and engagement activities as an integral pillar of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The journal provides a scholarly platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, government institutions, communities, and development partners to document, analyze, and evaluate initiatives that contribute to community empowerment and sustainable development.
The journal particularly emphasizes community-based programs involving technology transfer, the implementation of research and innovation, capacity building, participatory approaches, and community assistance. IJCSE encourages publications that demonstrate how scientific knowledge, technology, innovation, and institutional collaboration can be translated into practical solutions for addressing real-world problems faced by communities.
The international orientation of IJCSE is reflected through the publication of community engagement initiatives with cross-national relevance, the involvement of international editorial board members and reviewers, and the dissemination of knowledge and innovation that contribute to global sustainable development challenges and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
IJCSE welcomes community service and engagement studies across interdisciplinary fields, particularly those addressing community empowerment, social inclusion, local economic development, environmental sustainability, technological innovation, education, health, agriculture, fisheries, tourism, culture, and other applied fields that generate measurable benefits for communities.
