PENERAPAN METODE PEMBELAJARAN DISKUSI STRATEGI BEACH BALL UNTUK MELATIHKAN PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER PADA MATERI SENYAWA HIDROKARBON KELAS X SMAN 1 KARANGBINANGUN LAMONGAN (IMPLEMENTATION OFDISCUSSION LEARNING METHOD WITH BEACH BALL STRATEGY TO PRACTICE CHARACTER EDUCATION ON SUBJECT MATTER OF HYDROCARBON COMPOUND IN X GRADE OF SMAN 1 KARANGBINANGUN LAMONGAN)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakter siswa (toleransi,disiplin, dan jujur), ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa dan respon siswa terhadap metode pembelajaran diskusi kelas strategi beach ball. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pre-experimental dengan menggunakan “One Group Pretest Posttest Design”. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi (keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, aktvitas guru dan siswa dan pendidikan karakter), lembar penilaian diri, lembar soal test dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian mneunjukkan bahwa: (1) Karakter toleransi siswa secara klasikal selama empat kali pertemuan mengalami peningkatan yaitu 90,94% ; 94,37% ; 94,68% dan 96,56%. Karakter disiplin siswa secara klasikal yaitu sebesar 84,37% ; 84,45% ; 86,48% dan 88,48%. Karakter jujur siswa secara klasikal yaitu 89,06%. (2)Ketuntasan hasil belajar secara klasikal juga telah tercapai dengan persentase ketuntasan 87,5%. (3)Respon siswa terhadap penerapan metode pembelajaran diskusi kelas strategi beach ball adalah sangat positif sebesar 91%.

This research aimed to describe the student’s character (tolerant, discipline and honest),mastery of students learning outcome and students respond of discussion learning method with beach ball strategy. This research is pre-experimental research by using “one group pretest protest design”. This research was conducted on the second semester of the academic year 2013/ 2014. The instruments that were used are observation sheet (learning management, teachers and students activities, and character education), self assesment, test bookletand and responses questionnaire. The result showed that: (1) The tolerant character as classical for four meeting increased were above 90,94%; 94,37%; 94,68% and 96,56%. The discipline character as classical are above 84,37%; 84,45%; 86,48% and 88,48%. The honest character of the students as classical was 89,06%. (2) The classical completeness has reached by percentage 87,5%. (3) The students respond of implementing discussion learning method with strategy beach ball was very positive above 91%.
