Abstract

Abstract

Physical fitness is a condition in which individuals can maintain optimal performance in all conditions. This study aims to determine the differences in the level of physical fitness of students before and during the covid-19 pandemic. During the Covid-19 pandemic, physical fitness checks were also carried out on students. In addition, the examination was also carried out before the Covid-19 pandemic using a case study research method by utilizing secondary data. The secondary data obtained was the result of measuring students' physical fitness by the teacher using a balke test which was then converted into VO2Max before and during the pandemic. Covid-19. The population of this study were students of class XI SMA SMA Al Izzah Putra totaling 99 students, the technique sampling used was purposive sampling so that class XI MIA 3 consisted of 26 male students. In this study, the data analysis used was descriptive statistics, normality test with Kolmogorov-Smirnov, different test with Wilcoxon. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, research results showed that the average VO2Max was 42.2 mL/kg/min while during the pandemic VO2Max was 41.6 mL/kg/min. The difference in VO2Max is stated to be significant based on the calculation Wilcoxon test with a sig value of 0.011, which means the null hypothesis is rejected because it is smaller than 0.05, so it can be concluded that there are differences in student fitness before the pandemic and during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, based on the mean of the calculated results of VO2Max1 with VO2Max2, students' physical fitness increased by 1.33% during the covid-19 pandemic.
