PENGARUH PERSEPSI PROFESI GURU, PENGALAMAN MENGAJAR/PLP, DAN LINGKUNGAN TERHADAP MINAT MAHASISWA PRODI PENDIDIKAN TEKNIK MESIN UNIVERSITAS NEGERI SURABAYA MENJADI GURU

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the relationship between students' perceptions of the teacher profession, teaching experience/PLP, and the environment to the factors that influence their interest in becoming a teacher.

 

The research population was students at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, State University of Surabaya, class of 2017, totalling 77 students with a research sample of 65 students. The data was collected by using questionnare method, while the data analysis method used multiple linear regression analysis.

 

The results showed that: there is a positive and significant impact on the perception of the teaching profession, the environment, and the experience of teaching/PLP on the interest in becoming a teacher. The p-value of 0.000 is less than the value of 0.05 which indicates that the independent variables in this study jointly affect the dependent variable. However, after the partial test showed the following results; (1) there was a positive and significant impact between students' perceptions of the teacher profession on their interest in becoming a teacher; (2) there is a positive and significant impact between teaching experience/PLP on interest in becoming a teacher; (3) there is no influence between the impact from the environment on the interest in becoming a teacher.
