Abstract
Monotonous learning activities lead to less stimulation of learning passion in students due to less
effective learning, this causes less achievement of optimal learning outcomes. This problem has a
solution, one of which is the use of guided discovery learning learning models. The purpose of this
study was to determine the effectiveness of the guided discovery learning model on responses, learning
outcomes, and implementation of student learning in the basic competencies of solidworks class XI
TFLM at SMKN 5 Surabaya. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR). The cycle
is based on the design of MC Taggart which starts the flow through the steps of planning, action,
observation, then reflection. The data collection technique for the cognitive domain is a test, the
affective domain is observation, the psychomotor domain uses a skill test, implementation with
observation sheets, and responses to student questionnaires. This research was conducted with class XI
TFLM 1 respondents at SMKN 5 Surabaya. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that
the guided discovery learning model was effective in improving student learning outcomes for class XI
TFLM 1 according to the classical completeness standard of 85%, with student responses, and very
good learning implementation.
