Abstract
In the rapid development of education and technology, education has an important role. An effective learning process is needed. The learning process with conventional methods in Basic Work of Mechanical Engineering subjects at SMK PGRI 4 Surabaya is less effective. Students tend to be less enthusiastic in learning because the methods used are boring. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the application of the jigsaw learning model on the learning outcomes of Mechanical Engineering Basic Work class X. This type of research is a quasi-experiment whose research subjects are TPM students in class X SMK PGRI 4 Surabaya with a design pattern comparing experimental and control classes. The research instruments were pre-test and post-test question. As for the results of this study there is a difference between before and after the application of the jigsaw learning model. From the results of the N-Gain test experimental class reached a value of 57.5% classified as a fairly effective category and the control class reached a value of 20% classified as ineffective.
