EFFECTIVENESS OF USING POWER POINT MEDIA TO IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES IN AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING SKILLS PROGRAM

This research was motivated by the dominance of the learning process using lectures methods in MA. Abdurrohman Tuban. Based on the results of interviews with several teachers and school principal, it was found that 80% of teachers carried out the learning process using conventional methods. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of using power point media to improve student learning outcomes in the automotive engineering skills program.
This type of research is quantitative descriptive research that uses a quantitative type of experiment. This research was carried out at MA. Abdurrohman Tuban total population is all students in classes X, XI, and XII. The research sample was class X IPS students with sampling technique using purposive sampling. This research design uses a quasi experiment or a pretest posttest control group design.
The results of this research show the effectiveness of using Power Point media on student learning outcomes. Apart from looking at the value of learning outcomes which have increased, an independent sample t test and N gain score were also carried out with a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, so Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. So there are differences in student learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class. With an effectiveness value in the N gain score test of 4.8 > 1, it is included in the high category classification. So that power point media has high effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes.
