MOTIF WARIA PENARI ULAR DALAM ACARA PESTA DI SURABAYA

Seni adalah suatu bentuk aktivitas yang mencerminkan suatu keindahan yang beragam dan dapat dimunculkan melalui ekspresi, tindakan keterampilan maupun hiburan Umumnya bentuk seni yang berkembang saat ini seni sebagai hiburan contohnya tarian ular. tari tersebutmerupakan kreasi dari tarian perut yang berasal dari Negara Timur Tengah. Tarian ini lazimnya dilakukan oleh perempuan tetapi di Surabaya justru dilakukan oleh seorang waria dalam acara pesta. Penelitian kualitatif ini membahas tentang motif sosial waria penari ular dalam acara pesta di Surabaya dengan pendekatan konsep teori Alferd Schutz. Waktu Penelitian dilakukan dari Agustus – Oktober 2016. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pekerjaan sebagai penari ular mulai diminati oleh para waria sejak tahun 2000. Dibalik praktiknya yang sempat menjadi kontraversi, para waria penari ular tetap bertahan sebagai penari dikarenakan berbagai motif yang terdiri dari motif sebab dan motif tujuan. Because of motif yang didapat yaitu tertarik dengan hal baru, kebutuhan sosialisasi dengan lingkungan sekitar, pengakuan masyarakat tentang waria penari ular kurang, sulit mencari pekerjaan, kondisi perekonomian dan hobi yang tertanam sejak kecil. Sedangkan dari pekerjaan sebagai penari ular para informan memiliki tujuan tersendiri untuk dapat dicapai yaitu menjadi entertainer sejati, ingin mendapatkan banyak teman, ingin dikenal masyarakat dengan ciri khas yang dimiliki, mendapatkan penghasilan lebih dan menyalurkan (mengeksplor) bakat.

Art is a form of activity that reflects a diversity of beauties and can be expressed through expressions, acts of skill and entertainment Generally the art form that develops today art as entertainment for example snake dance. The dance is a creation of belly dance originating from the middle east country. This dance is usually done by women but in Surabaya it is done by a transvestite in the party. This qualitative research discusses the social motives of shemale snake dancers in a party event in Surabaya with the approach of Alferd Schutz theory concept. Time research conducted from august to october 2016. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the work as a snake dancer began to demand by the shemale since 2000. Behind the practice that had become a contraversy, the transsexual snake dancers still survive as a dancer due to various motives consisting of motives cause and motive purpose. Because of the motive that is attracted by the new things, the need for socialization with the surrounding environment, the public recognition of shemale are less snake, difficult to find a job, economic conditions and hobbies are embedded since childhood. While the work as a snake dancer the informants have their own goals to be achieved that is to be a true entertainer, want to get many friends, want to be known by the community with their own characteristics, earn more income and channel (explore) talent.
