Analisis Wacana Kritis Tentang Tema Ketimpangan Sosial Pada Teater Tradisional Sandur Kabupatent Bojonegoro
Abstract
This study aims to analyze how social inequality is represented in traditional Sandur theater performances in Bojonegoro Regency. Sandur performances not only serve as entertainment for the people, but also as a medium of social expression that reflects the realities of community life, particularly in depicting the social class differences between the upper and lower classes. This study uses Teun A. Van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) theory, which emphasizes three main dimensions, namely text structure, social cognition, and social context. The method used is a qualitative approach with discourse analysis techniques. Data was obtained through video documentation of performances uploaded on YouTube, namely Pagelaran Sandur Bojonegoro Live Taman Budaya Jawa Timur and Seni Tradisional Sandur Bojonegoro Bagian 1, Bagian 2 & Kalongking, as well as supporting data through interviews with artists from Sanggar Sayap Jendela. The data collection process was carried out by watching, transcribing, and analyzing the dialogue, expressions, and movements of the performers to find the meaning of social inequality discourse. The results of the study show that traditional Sandur theater performances represent social inequality through the use of language, body expressions, and narrative structures that describe the domination of the upper class over the lower class. Through the discourse formed in the performance, Sandur becomes a medium for social criticism that voices social inequality and injustice in Bojonegoro society. Thus, this study confirms that traditional arts not only function as cultural heritage but also as a discursive space that constructs and critiques the social reality of society.
