KONSTRUKSI DIRI KOMUNITAS “HIJABEE” SURABAYA TERHADAP HIJAB

Abstrak

Penulisan jurnal ini berawal dari ketertarikan peneliti terhadap anggota komunitas Hijabee Surabaya dalam konstruksi diri terhadap hijab. Anggota Hijabee memakai hijab yang berbeda dengan muslimah yang lain, yaitu dengan mengkresikan hijabnya dan terlihat fashionable. Ada makna lain terkandung oleh hijab yang dikenakan anggota Hijabeese selain sebagai penutup aurat. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan interaksi simbolik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anggota Hijabee memakai hijab kreasi karena mendapat konstruk dari masyarakat yang menyebutkan bahwa Hijabee merupakan komunitas muslimah modern yang selalu memakai hijab kreasi dan terlihat fashionable. Anggota Hijabee mengkonstruksi hijab yang dipakai sebagai pertama, hijab sebagai pelindung. Anggota Hijabee merasa terlindungi setelah memakai hijab karena terhindar dari pergaulan bebas. Kedua hijab sebagai penyempurna pakaian muslimah, karena untuk menutupi aurat. Ketiga, hijab sebagai bentuk kehormatan kepada Allah. Untuk menghormati Allah yang telah menciptakannya dengan menutup aurat untuk menjalankan kewajiban sebagai muslimah. Keempat, hijab sebagai identitas. Karena memperoleh pembentukan identitas sebagai muslimah berhijab dari masyarakat yang terpengaruh oleh lingkungan sebagai “Me”. Konsep diri “I” pada anggota Hijabee terlihat saat mereka menjalankan aktivitas sehari-hari. Mereka tidak perlu menunjukkan identitas sebagai anggota Hijabee yang selalu memakai hijab kreasi yang terlihat fashionable. Konsep diri “Me” terlihat saat anggota Hijabee mengikuti kegiatan Hijabee dengan berbagai peraturannya.

Abstract

Writing this journal originated from a research interest of Hijabee’s member in construction themselves against hijab. Hijabee’s members wearing hijab which is different from the other muslimah, they creating their hijab’s and look fashionable. There are also other meaning of hijab’s by Hijabee’s members, that is to cover aurat’s. Qualitative research methods with symbolic interaction approach. The result showed that Hijabee’s members wear hijab’s creations because of gets social construct from society, and they said that Hijabee are modern muslimah communities who always wear hijab’s creations and look fashionable. Hijabee’s members construct their hijab’s as first hijab as a protections. They are affected by society, feel protected after wearing hijab’s because it spare from promiscuity. Second, hijab as complement muslimah clothing, because muslim needs to cover their aurat’s. Third, hijab’s as a honor to God. To respect for a God that has been created by close their aurat’s, to run duties as muslimah. Fourth, hijab’s as an identity. Since acquiring identity as muslimah who wear hijab’s from society, and affected by the environment as “Me”. Self-concept “I” in Hijabee’s members be seen when they run daily activities. They don’t need to show an identity as a members of Hijabee always wear hijab creations that look fashionable. Self-concept “Me” seen when Hijabee’s members join the Hijabee community with various rules.
