THE INFLUENCE OF WORKING MOTHERS' PARENTING AND CHILDREN'S SOCIAL INTERACTION IN EAST JAVA

Abstract

Social emotional development is the process of developing children's ability to adjust to the wider social world. Parenting is the guidance and leadership given to children with regard to their life interests. Proper maternal parenting will shape children's positive social intelligence. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of working mothers' parenting on children's social interactions. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sample of this study was children aged 3-6 years in East Java totaling 400 children. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS 25 for hypothesis testing. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an influence of working mothers' parenting on children's social interaction. This is indicated by the Sig. value of the correlation test results which is 0.000 <0.05. The importance of mothers making time for children can minimize low levels of social interaction. Good social interaction can help children in the next level of education.
