Improving Children's Ability to Recognize Letters Through Playdough Media at KB-TK Siti Khotijah

Abstract

Recognizing letters is not an easy thing for children, especially letters that have almost similar shapes but differ in pronunciation. The use of media in learning is one of the influences in children's learning. Playdough is a medium that can be used to introduce letters by forming the letters taught. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of playdough media in letter recognition in Siti Khotijah KB-TK. This research method uses the classroom action method, with group A research subjects in Siti Khotijah Kindergarten. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, which are processed with percentage techniques. There are 2 cycles in this study that show the results of an increase in children's ability to recognize letters. Thus, it can be concluded that the game of forming letters using playdough media can improve children's ability to recognize letters.
