Increasing the Introduction to Number Symbols in Children Aged 4-5 Years Through Flashcard Media
Abstract
The results of observations that have been carried out found the problem that the ability to recognize number symbols in children at PPT Dahlia Pondok Maritim Surabaya is still low. This problem can arise due to the lack of use of learning media that provides direct understanding so that it can create curiosity in children in receiving learning. This research aims to determine the increase in children's recognition of number symbols in each cycle, children's activities and teacher activities. Because many factors can determine the success of learning, such as children, teachers, media and learning methods. This research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research was carried out through 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. Data collection was carried out using observation and documentation techniques. The subjects in this study were children aged 4-5 years with a total of 9 children. The internal analysis technique used is descriptive statistical data analysis technique, data in the form of information in the form of sentences that provide letters about children's expressions related to the level of understanding of a learning material.
