THE EFFECT OF INTERACTIVE WORDWALL GAMES ON THINKING ABILITY SYMBOLICS OF CHILDREN AGE 4-5 YEARS IN MUSLIMAT KINDERGARTEN NU 30 TAMBAK REJO WARU SIDOARJO
Abstract
At this time, stimulating children's symbolic thinking skills can be done in various ways, one of which is by
using the interactive game Wordwall. After initial observations, there are still many kindergartens that have
not thought about using the interactive game Wordwall to stimulate children's symbolic thinking skills.
Children's thinking abilities have indicators of cognitive development, namely mentioning, counting, and
connecting number concepts. This study aims to determine the effect of the Wordwall interactive game on the
symbolic thinking skills of children aged 4-5 years at the Muslimat NU 30 Tambak Rejo Kindergarten. This
research was conducted for 7 days by giving a pretest to the sample then followed by giving treatment 1,
treatment 2, treatment 3 and ends with a posttest. The treatment given is using learning media and worksheets
made by researchers. This study used 15 children as the research sample. This research uses quantitative
research with the Quasi Experimental Design method, by utilizing the control group and the experimental
group, but to determine this is not random (Nonrandom Assignment). Data collection techniques used
observation sheets and tests on children. The data analysis technique used validity test through expert
judgment, reliability test using Chronbach's Alpha, Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test and homogeneity test
with Levene test using SPSS Version 22 software. The results of hypothesis testing were through independent
sample t-test with SPSS Verssi 22 software. These results obtained a significant value of 0.000 <0.05. Thus Ho
is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that the Wordwall interactive game has a significant influence on the
symbolic thinking skills of children aged 4-5 years at TK Muslimat NU 30 Tambak Rejo.
