Abstract

Study on SMP Negeri 1 Turi Lamongan aimed to find out that the learning of integrated science connected pattern light concept through generative learning strategies to create meaningful learning on the students. A learning can be meaningful if there is not difference at retention of students' understanding and total average value of the transfer ≥ 350. This research is an experimental research design with Time-Series Design through the calculation of SPSS 15. This research was conducted in academic year 2010/2011. The population of this research is class VIII A student of SMP Negeri 1 Turi Lamongan with total sample of 20 students. The results of this study indicate the creation of retention and transfer of student’ understanding. This is shown by the probability of retention of students' understanding of 0,063 which means that does not happen is a significant difference between students' understanding after the end of learning with students' understanding after an interval of two weeks from the end of learning. Also shown with the results of students' understanding of transfer is 350, which means the creation of a transfer student understanding. Total average value of the transfer of 413. Creation of retention and transfer students understanding also indicate the creation of meaningful learning on the students.
