1. ASPEK NATURE OF SCIENCE DALAM BUKU TEKS IPA SMP KELAS IX DI SMP NEGERI 2 PANDAAN

Abstract

One of the attempts that should be addressed to promote students’ scientific literacy is by embedding nature of science (NOS) into science textbook as one of the primary resources in learning. This research aimed to describe the NOS aspects presented within the three science textbooks in grade 9. This study used a descriptive research method to describe the ten aspects of NOS which adopted from Abd-El-Khalick et al. (2008). Data were collected by quoting every sentences or paragraphs regarding of each targeted NOS aspects, later were grouped and analyzed descriptively to describe the completeness of ten aspects of NOS. Analyses showed that the targeted NOS aspects were not completely addressed within the three science textbooks. Textbook A addressed seven out of ten aspects of NOS, highest among the other two, whereas Textbook B and Textbook C did only five and six. NOS aspects that most ddressed within the three textbooks were empirical, scientific theories, and social and cultural embeddedness of science. Some of the targeted NOS aspects, which were inferential, creative, and scientific method, were not addressed within the three science textbooks at all. The inadequacy of targeted NOS aspects within the textbooks was believed to be related with authors’ and publisher’ interests regarding NOS. The inadequacy of targeted NOS aspects would lead to insufficient NOS learning in classroom and the science literacy as the primary goal in science learning would be difficult to achieve.


2. ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI TERBIMBING DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS SISWA SMP

Abstract

Science process skills are competencies that students can build their own concepts learned. The purpose of this study was to analyze the use of guidediinquiry learning models to improve sciencesprocess skills for science subjects in junior high school students. This research uses qualitative research, descriptive method. The research sample was 30 junior high school students and data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires. The results showed that the use of guided inquiry learning in science learning was able to improve students' science process skills. This can be seen in the guided inquiry learning model which is a student-centered learning process. With this, students independently seek solutions to a problem with the supervision of the teacher. The results of the questionnaire analysis showed that there was an increase in the percentage of indicators of students' science process skills. The average increase experienced is from 49.33% to 76.66%. The improvement of science process skills in students can be formed and developed with habits that are carried out continuously in the learning process, in order to improve scientific understanding.


3. ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA DI MASA PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the science teacher at MTs Negeri 1 Sidoarjo used discovery learning, constraints and students’ inductive and deductive thinking skills in the implementation of online discovery learning. This research used case study method. The subjects in this study were one science teacher and 15 students from class IX-C MTs Negeri 1 Sidoarjo, which used discovery learning during online learning. This study was focused on 3 topics: plant breeding, magnetism, and food biotechnology. Instruments were used in this study were guidelines for teacher and student interview, checklist instruments for learning plans, student response questionnaires and student inductive and deductive questions. Document analysis techniques, semi-structured interviews, surveys, and tests for students’ inductive and deductive thinking skills were used in this study, and data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The result of this study indicates that: (1) The learning plans made by the teacher on three topics reached a percentage of 100% because all stages of discovery learning have been included in lesson plans; (2) The implementation of discovery learning on three topics studied reached a percentage 61%, which indicates that it has not been implemented optimally because there were discovery learning stages that were not carried out during learning, such as problem statement, verification, and generalization stages; (3) The students’ inductive thinking test result reached 64%, while deductive thinking test result reached 72%. Because lack test results were that application of the discovery learning has not been optimal which could affect the quality of student learning.


4. PENGAPLIKASIAN CALL CARDS PADA MATERI SISTEM PENCERNAAN MANUSIA SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA SMP

Abstract

The lack of role in the use of learning media that can be used in learning that is abstract to become more concrete is one of the reasons for carrying out this research. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of call cards on student learning outcomes in the material of the human digestive system. The research design used was One-Group Pre-test-Post-test Design. The research was conducted in class VIII C of SMP Negeri 1 Pacet with a total of 32 students. The data collection instruments in this study used observation sheets, tests, and questionnaires. Science learning outcomes data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques, namely normality test, t-test, and description of N-gain. The results showed that the average percentage of student activity was 81.5% having an average of 61% with very good criteria. The acquisition of t-test, Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in student learning outcomes between before and after the call cards game is applied, and the average N-gain is 0.60, besides that students respond positive for 83.11% with a very good category for the application of call cards on the material of the human digestive system. Thus, call cards game media can be an alternative in improving science learning outcomes better.


5. PENERAPAN MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING BERBASIS MOBILE VIRTUAL LABORATORY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS DASAR

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness application model discovery learning -based mobile virtual laboratory on simple aircraft material to improving student’s basic science process skills, learning implementation and student response questionnaires. The type of research is Pre-experimental with One Group Pretest Posttest as the design. The research subjects were students of grade VIII I SMPN 16 Surabaya totaling 39 students. The research instruments were in the form of test sheets for basic science process skills, observation sheets for the implementation of discovery learning, and student response questionnaire sheets. Data collection techniques were carried out using test, observation, and questionnaire methods. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive. The implementation of learning both the first and second meetings obtained percentage of 93.75%-100% with each meeting included very good category. There is increase in basic science process skills in terms of the average pretest and posttest results of 45.38 to 83.21 with classical completeness on the posttest 94.87% and the acquisition N-gain score of 0.70 which included in the medium category. In the student response questionnaire for all statement items including very good category of the average student response answers are in the interval above 3.41 to 4.21 from the highest scale worth 5. The conclusion is learning with the model discovery learning based on mobile virtual laboratory can improve basic science process skills and get a positive response from students.


6. PENGGUNAAN E-MODUL INTERAKTIF UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA SMP PADA MATERI KALOR

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the learning process, improved learning outcomes and student responses to the use of interactive e-modules in heat material in learning. This study is a pre-experiments study, using one group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted on 32 students from class VII-H SMPN 5 Gresik. Sample selection uses random sampling techniques. Data collection methods used in the form of observations, tests and questionnaires. The results of the data collection will be analyzed using mode values to measure learning performance, normality tests and paired t-tests to measure the significance of improved learning outcomes, calculate N-Gain scores, and calculate percentage averages in each aspect of the questionnaire to measure students' response to learning. The results of this study obtained that, the learning process has been carried out in a very good category. Student activity increased at the second meeting, which was 75% with a high category. Obtained the average N-gain value of students in one class of 0.65, so that it can be expressed in the moderate category. Learning outcomes experienced a significant increase, as they gained a value significance of 0,000<0.05. Judging from the results of the response, 96.35% of students gave a positive response to the learning process. The conclusion of this study is that the use of interactive e-modules on heat material can improve learning outcomes for students of class VII-H SMPN 5 Gresik.


7. PENERAPAN MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING DALAM PEMBELAJARAN DARING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR PADA MATERI SISTEM PENCERNAAN

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation and effectiveness of the discovery learning model in improving learning outcomes on digestive system material. The subjects of this research were 26 students of class VIII-G SMPN 54 Surabaya. This research method is descriptive quantitative research design with one group pretest posttest design. The instruments used were pretest and posttest sheets each with 12 multiple choice questions and discovery learning implementation sheets. The results of the implementation of discovery learning learning obtained a very good category in 4 mode. The results of the homogeneity test state that the data are homogeneous with a significance level of 0.06. In the normality test, the data is normally distributed with a significance level of 0.39. The dependent t-test shows alpha 0.00 so that it is known that there is a significant difference between the pretest posttest learning outcomes. The result of the implementation discovery learning is effective in improving learning outcomes on digestive system material.


8. ANALISIS KEEFEKTIFAN KOMIK EDUKASI TERHADAP PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SISWA

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of educational comics in increasing student’understanding of the concept of renewable energy. The type of research conducted is quantitative research with Intack Group Comparison research design. The study was conducted at SMPN 2 Perak with 2 classes as the research sample, the control class as VII-B and experimental class as VII-A. The test method given before and after the application of comics in learning was used as a data collection technique in this study. The pre-test and post-test score data were then analyzed to get an increase in student’ conceptual understanding. The t-test results show that the experimental class has a higher value than control class. This shows that there is an increase during learning, with experimental class being better than the control class. The n-gain value for the control class is 0,11 and the experimental class is 0,86, this make the experimental class higher than control class in terms of student’ conceptual understanding. Based on these results, it can be concluded that increasing student’ conceptual understanding by using comics is very effective.


9. IMPLEMENTASI LKPD BERBASIS INKUIRI TERBIMBING PADA MATERI PENCEMARAN AIR UNTUK MELATIHKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA SMP

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of the application of guided inquiry-based students worksheets in practicing critical thinking skills on water pollution material. The type of research used is pre-experimental with one group pretest posttest design method. The research instrument used was a pretest posttest sheet, and a questionnaire. The subjects of this research were students of VII-A of SMPN 1 Deket Lamongan with a total of 29 students. The results in this study were based on an increase in the pretest posttest score. The average score of n-gain pretest posttest is 0,7 with moderate criteria. Increasing the percentage of critical thinking indicator, analyzing arguments from 25% to 73% with sufficient criteria, observing and writing down the result from 72% to 92% with very good criteria, making further explanations from 29% to 67% with sufficient criteria, and concluding form 14% to 75% with sufficient criteria. The average result of the percentage of completeness is 77% in the goog category and the average increase in the percentage of completeness of the critical thinking indicator gets a score of 2 with high criteria and students response questionnaires obtained result of 78% in the strong category. Thus guided inquiry based worksheets can train students critical thinking skills.


10. EFEKTIVITAS SIMULASI PhET DENGAN MODEL INKUIRI TERBIMBING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS SISWA SMP PADA MATERI LISTRIK DINAMIS

Abstract

This research aimed to describe three important things in learning, namely implementation of learning, student process skills, and student response after participating in learning with guided inquiry methods using PhET on dynamic electrical materials. This research method uses pre-experimental with one group pretest and posttest design with research subjects are 14 students of class IX-B Jati Agung Waru Junior High School. Data obtained by observation, tests, and questionnaires method are then analyzed in quantitative descriptions. The resultssshowed that the percentage of learning effectiveness of 96.22 during 2 meetings was said to be an excellent and very practical category that was getting more than 90%. Science process skills gained a total N-Gain of 0.82 which is high in category and effectively having increased. Students responded by 90.15 is categorized as excellent response. Basedoon theedescription above, ittcan beeconcluded that learning with guided inquiry methods that using PhET can improve the skills of science processes in dynamic electrical materials.


11. PEMANFAATAN MEDIA E-LEARNING EDLINK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA PADA MATERI SISTEM PENCERNAAN MANUSIA

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the improvement of critical thinking skills and student responses to the use Edlink e-learning media on the human digestive system materials. This research uses a pre experimental design method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest. The research was conducted at SMP Negeri 46 Surabaya involving students in class VIII-A (experimental class) and class VIII-B (replication class). The results showed that the use of Edlink e-learning media could improve students critical thinking skills. The increase in the percentage of students critical thinking in class VIII-A in the medium category is 62.07% and the high category is 37.93%. Class VIII-B experienced an increase in the percentage of critical thinking in the low category of 3.35%, medium category 62.07%, and high category 34.48%. The results of student responses as a whole gave a positive response. Students feel happy, enthusiastic, and interested in participating in learning activities using the Edlink e-learning media. Thus, the use of Edlink e-learning media makes online learning more meaningful so that students critical thinking skills increase.


12. IMPLEMENTASI LABORATORIUM VIRTUAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR DAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS SISWA SMP DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA

Abstract

This research aims to describe the improvement of learning motivation and science process skills of junior high school students in science learning by implementing a virtual laboratory. The type of research used is the pre-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design with research subjects, namely 33 students of class VII-D of SMPN 35 Surabaya in the 2021-2022. The sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling. Data collection techniques are by test methods and the spread of questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this study is quantitative statistics by using the N-Gain test. The results showed that student learning motivation got percentage from 65% (medium category) to 80% (good category) with an average N-Gain of 0.42 including moderate categories. Students science process skills got score 70 (enough category) to 83 (good category) with an average N-Gain of 0.47 including moderate categories. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of learning media in the form of virtual laboratory can increase students learning motivation and science process skills in science learning and in line with the Ministry of Education's policy on the implementation of education policies in the emergency period of the spread of Covid-19.


13. PENERAPAN MODEL FLIPPED CLASSROOM-STAD UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the increase in student cognitive learning outcomes by implementing flipped classroom-STAD models in the blood circulatory system material. This quantitative study was a pre-experimental design with one group pretest posttest as research design. Samples in this study were 32 students of VIII H class in SMPN 27 Surabaya. Data collection techniques used were test methods given before (pretest) and after (posttest) learning to measure student cognitive learning outcomes and a questionnaire methods to measure learning model implementation. Learning outcomes data were analyzed using paired t-test and N-Gain test. Paired t-test result indicated that there was an effect of treatment on student learning outcomes. As for the N-Gain test result obtained value of 62% that indicated an increase in medium category and classical completeness also achieved with a percentage of 87%. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the flipped classroom-STAD models implementation improved student learning outcomes on science learning in the blood circulatory system material.


14. ANALISIS KETERAMPILAN KOLABORASI SISWA SMP PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA DI MASA PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the collaboration skills of junior high school students in science learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The subjects in this study were 32 students of class IX-G SMP Negeri 34 Surabaya using purposive sampling technique. The data collection method used is observation in learning. Observation sheets were used to obtain data on collaboration skills of junior high school students in science learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The observation sheet is filled in by providing a checklist on the descriptors for each collaboration skill indicator that appears. The conclusion of this research is the acquisition of the average percentage of collaboration skills indicators is 66%. The percentage results show that the collaboration skills possessed by junior high school students in science learning during the Covid-19 pandemic are quite collaborative in accordance with the benchmark reference assessment criteria. This is due to the adaptation of the Covid-19 pandemic, where previously learning was carried out online and is now face-to-face but is still limited.


15. PENERAPAN VIRTUAL LABORATORY UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS SISWA DI MASA PANDEMI

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students’ science process skills by using virtual laboratory media with guided inquiry learning model on Archimedes’ Principle. The method of this study was pre-experimental design with one group pretest posttest design as a research design. The subject in this study were 35 students of VIII J class in SMP Negeri 1 Surabaya. The methods of data collection were by giving a pretest before and posttest after learning to measure students’ science process skills and observation using observation sheet to measure learning in every phase. The data were analyzed using the paired t-test and the N-Gain. The results obtained through the paired t test, significance value was (0.00) < 0.05 therefore indicated that there was a significant effect of the treatment on the students’ science process skills. As for the N-Gain test result was 0.8 consider as high category and classical completeness also achieved with percentage of 80%. Based on the study that has been done, it can be conclude that virtual laboratory media with guided inquiry learning model can improve students’ science process skills in Archimedes’ Principle.


16. MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI SAINS SISWA MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN IPA BERBASIS SOCIO-SCIENTIFIC ISSUES PADA MATERI PENCEMARAN LINGKUNGAN

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of learning, students' scientific literacy skills, and students' responsses to learning in the context of socio-scientific issues on environmental pollution material. The type of research used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The target of the research, namely 16 seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Sidoarjo. The data was obtained by observation, tests, and questionnaires using qualitative descriptions and quantitative descriptions. The results showed the average score of learning implementation was 3.46, with a good category. The average score of students' scientific literacy skills on the pretest was 36.63, while the posttest was 62.5 with an increase in students' scientific literacy skills, which was marked by an N-Gain value of 0.41 in the medium category. Students responsded positively to learning in socio-scientific issues on environmental pollution material with a percentage of 96% with a very good category. The conclusion of this research is the learning process in the context of socio-scientific issues on environmental pollution material can improve students' scientific literacy skills.


17. MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA SMP SELAMA PEMBELAJARAN TATAP MUKA TERBATAS

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the learning motivation of Junior High School students during limited face-to-face learning, through survey. Research participants from VII-IX grade totaling 548 students with details of 50% of the number of students per grade level. The research instrument used was the Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction (ARCS) learning motivation questionnaire, with a total of 20 statements. The data collection technique used was through questionnaires distributed online and during limited offline meetings using Google Forms. The results of this study were data on students learning motivation during limited face-to-face learning in the ARCS aspect, all of which are included in the good category. Although still in the good category, the ability of students to adapt to this limited face-to-face learning system still had low potential. Therefore, a more effective, creative, and innovative with using technology media and varied learning methods limited face-to-face learning evaluation is needed to increase students learning motivation during limited face-to-face learning.


18. ANALISIS PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA DAN KETERLAKSANAAN PROCESS ORIENTED GUIDED INQUIRY LEARNING DITINJAU DARI JENIS KELAMIN

Abstract

This study aimed to find the effect of the POGIL learning method and students’ gender on their learning performance. The type of research used was one group pretest-posttest design and quantitative descriptive. Data collection techniques used were observation and test methods. The data have been collected through observation and test result. The instruments used in this research were: (1) observation sheets of POGIL learning method application, (2) pretest and posttest of students’ cognitive abilities (3) self-assessment sheets of students’ affective abilities, and (4) science process skill observation sheets of students’ psychomotor abilities. The participants in this study were 20 students in the city of Surabaya with 8 male students and 12 female students. This research showed the implementation of the POGIL learning method significantly affected the students’ affective, cognitive, and psychomotor performance. Majority of the research subjects achieved a very good grades on their affective test, meanwhile the minority of students’ psychomotor abilities achieved an average score. Genders also influence their learning performance, with female students performing better than male. In conclusion, the implementation of the POGIL learning method and the students’ gender are two elements that simultaneously affect their learning performance.


19. PENERAPAN MODEL LEARNING CYCLE 5E BERBANTUAN LKPD UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP PESERTA DIDIK PADA MATERI ZAT ADITIF

Abstract

This research aimed to describe: (1) the implementation of learning, (2) increase in concept understanding, and (3) the student responses to the application of the learning cycle 5E model on additive substances. This research used a pre-experimental design with one group pretest posttest design. Participants in this research were 16 students of class VIII A UPT SMP Negeri 14 Gresik. Data collection techniques were conducted by observation, pretest and posttest, and questionnaires. Data analysis of the implementation of learning conducted by calculating the average of each learning activity. Increase in concept understanding was analyzed with the N-Gain test. The students’ responses were analyzed by calculating the average percentage of student responses. The implementation of learning obtained high results with very good category in the first meeting and the second meeting. The concept understanding increased in posttest scores and N-Gain scores obtained results in medium category. The results of the student responses got a high percentage which meant that students responded very well. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the application of the learning cycle 5E model assisted by worksheet could improve student concept understanding on additive substances.


20. EFEKTIVITAS PENERAPAN PROJECT BASED LEARNING BERBASIS OUTDOOR STUDY DENGAN BANTUAN MICROSOFT TEAMS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of implementing project-based learning with outdoor study using the assistance of Microsoft Teams to increase conceptual understanding from the material about heat and its transfer. Participants in this research were 31 students of class VII in SMPN 42 Surabaya. This research used a pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques were conducted by pretest-posttest and questionnaire responses. The result from a paired t-test showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores to increase students' conceptual understanding. The N-Gain test pointed out that 55% of students were in the medium category while the other 45% were in the high category after implementing project-based learning on an outdoor study using Microsoft Teams. Students' responses to the learning process indicated that 81.41% had positive responses. Based on the result, it can be concluded that applied learning effectively could increase students' conceptual understanding.


21. PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SOCIO-SCIENTIFIC ISSUES BERBANTUAN E-LKPD PADA MATERI ZAT ADITIF UNTUK MENINGKATKAN LITERASI SAINS SISWA

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the increase of students' scientific literacy on additive substances using socio-scientific issues approaches assisted by electronic worksheets. This study was a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest as a research design. Samples in this study were 37 students of VIII-C grade in SMPN 31 Surabaya. The data were collected using observation, questionnaires, and tests. The implementation of learning obtained high results with very good categories in the first and second meetings. The increase in students' scientific literacy was analyzed using paired t-test and N-Gain test. Paired t-test result indicated that there was an effect of treatment on student scientific literacy. As for the N-Gain test result obtained a value of 0,85 that indicated an increase in the high category. The results of the student responses got a high percentage which meant that students responded very well to the electronic worksheets. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the socio-scientific issues approach assisted by electronic worksheets could improve students' scientific literacy.


22. IMPLEMENTASI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI TERSTRUKTUR UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS SISWA MATERI SISTEM PEREDARAN DARAH

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of learning, student responses, and improvement of basic science process skills after the implementation of the structured inquiry learning model in the concept human circulatory system. This study was a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design which was developed into an experimental and replication class. Samples in this study were 58 students of VIII-A and VIII-B grade in SMPN 46 Surabaya. The data were collected using observation, questionnaires, and tests. The findings revealed that: (1) the implementation of structured inquiry learning got very good category (2) the majority of students’ responses were positive towards the learning process (3) the results of N-gain test for class VIII-A increased in the high category and VIII-B increased in the medium category (4) the results of the unpaired t-test showed that the N-gain score VIII-A was the same as the N-gain score VIII-B. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the structured inquiry learning model can improve students’ basic SPS.


23. PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI TERSTRUKTUR BERBANTUAN VIRTUAL-LABORATORY PhET UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP LISTRIK DINAMIS

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of learning, student responses, and the effect of learning with a structured inquiry learning model assisted by virtual-laboratory PhET to improve the mastery of the concept of dynamic electricity. This study was a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest as a research design. Samples in this study were 26 students of IX grade in MTs Miksyaful Ulum. The data were collected using tests, questionnaire, and observation by applied in the form of written tests, student response questionnaires, and learning implementation observation sheets as the instruments. The findings revealed that: (1) the implementation of learning with a structured inquiry learning model assisted by virtual-laboratory PhET at the first and second meeting got a very good category, (2) the implementation of structured inquiry learning model assisted by virtual-laboratory PhET got positive responses from students with a very good category, (3) there were significant differences between understanding the concept before and after using a structured inquiry model assisted by virtual-laboratory PhET, and (4) the average value of N-gain of all subconcept got a high category. Therefore, learning with structured inquiry learning assisted by virtual-lab PhET can improve student conceptual understanding.


24. PENGARUH MODEL FLIPPED CLASSROOM PADA PEMBELAJARAN JARAK JAUH DENGAN MATERI SISTEM PEREDARAN DARAH MANUSIA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effect of flipped classroom models on distance learning in human blood circulatory system to improve student learning outcomes. The study was quantitative research with one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 30 students of class VIII-J SMPN 32 Surabaya. The data collection techniques used were test methods, pretest-posttest to measure student learning outcomes, and questionnaire methods consisted of student response questionnaires and learning implementation. The results of this research showed that there was an improvement of the students learning outcomes by using the flipped classroom model on distance learning with human blood circulatory system in accordance with the N-Gain result in high categories. So it can be concluded that the flipped classroom learning model on distance learning had a significant effect to improve student learning outcomes in the human blood circulatory system.


25. ANALISIS KETERCAPAIAN INDIKATOR BUDI PEKERTI LUHUR SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA SMP PADA MASA PPKM PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the achievement of students’ noble character aspect in science learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study was a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were 19 female students of VII-B class and one science teacher of Jati Agung Junior High School with the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data collection techniques used were interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used in this study were data reduction processes, information presentations, and conclusions. The results of this study showed that all students have a very good religious character and most students also have honest, responsible, confident, and tolerant characters. So it can be concluded that five aspects of noble character that are analyzed by the researcher in science learning are in accordance with the noble character aspect. The study result proved this accordancy where student’s noble character aspect in a very good category.

1. PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS DAN MINAT BELAJAR MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI TERBIMBING BERBASIS PhET

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the improvement of students’ science process skills and students’ interest in learning through guided inquiry learning with PhET based media. The type of the research was one group pretest-posttest design and quantitative descriptive. The subject in this research were 20 students VII-D of Junior High School 28 Surabaya with 10 male students and 10 female students. The instruments in this research were test sheet and questionnaires. Data were collected by (1) pretest and posttest of science process skills (2) questionnaire of students’ interest in learning. The research results showed that there were improvement in students' process science skills consider as moderate category in N-Gain score and students' interest in learning from moderately to sufficient criteria. The students gave a positive response in learning implementation. Conclusion of this research was that the implementation of guided inquiry learning based on PhET media can improve the students’ science process skills and students' interest in learning.


2. PENERAPAN MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING BERBANTUAN GOOGLE CLASSROOM UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the implementation of learning, students’ responses, and learning outcomes in aspects of attitude and knowledge using the discovery learning model assisted by Google Classroom. This research used a pre-experimental with one group pretest posttest design. Samples in this research were 17 students of VII-A class in SMP NU Bahrul Ulum Gresik in the Academic Year 2021/2022. The data were collected using observations, questionnaires, and tests in the form of learning implementation observation sheets, student response questionnaires, attitude assessment sheets, and test assessment sheets as the instruments. The results showed that: (1) the implementation of learning with a discovery learning model assisted by Google Classroom at each stage in three meetings got a very good category; (2) the implementation of discovery model assisted by Google Classroom got positive responses from students with a very good category; (3) learning outcome of social attitudes aspects which include cooperative attitudes, curiosity attitudes, and attitudes of responsibility were declared complete with good and very good predicates; (4) learning outcome in the knowledge aspect increased as evidenced by the average value of N-gain in high category.


3. PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE STAD UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA SMP PADA MATERI ZAT ADITIF

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students’ learning outcomes on additive substances using the STAD cooperative learning model. This study used a pre-experimental with one group pretest posttest design. Samples in this study were 37 students. The data were collected using observation, questionnaires, and tests. The implementation of learning obtained high results with very good categories in the first and second meetings. The improvement in students' learning outcomes was analyzed using paired t-test and N-Gain test. Paired t-test result indicated that there was an effect of treatment on student learning outcomes. As for the N-Gain test result obtained a value of 0,75 that indicated an increase in the high category. The results of the student responses got a high percentage which meant that students responded very well to STAD cooperative learning model. Based on these results, it can be concluded that STAD cooperative learning model could improve students' learning outcomes.


4. PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI SAINS SISWA SMP PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students' scientific literacy by implementing the problem-based learning model. The method in this research is pre-experiment with one group pretest posttest design. The subject in this study were 20 students of the VIII I class in SMP Negeri 32 Surabaya. The implementation of the problem-based learning model is very good according to the syntax. The results N-Gain obtained through the pretest and posttest of scientific literacy in the medium category. The implementation of the problem-based learning model obtained positive responses from students with a very good category that supports the growth of students' scientific literacy skills. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning models implementation improved students’ scientific literacy in the additive. The aspect of competence/scientific process was the aspect that has the highest improvement in the medium category.


5. PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VII DENGAN MENERAPKAN PEMBELAJARAN INKUIRI TERBIMBING

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of learning process while improving learning outcomes and students’ responses using a guided inquiry-based learning model on heat and transfer. This research method uses pre-experimental research with a research design of one group pretest and posttest with a research target of 22 students of class VII SMP Semen Gresik. The techniques of collecting data were observation, tests, and questionnaire and then was analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. The results that were obtained showed that the mode value of the results of the implementation of learning activities at the first and second meetings was included in the criteria for implementing very good learning, while the results of the students’ responses showed a positive response with the acquisition of very good criteria. The result of N-Gain test analysis acquire in the medium category so that students learning outcomes experienced a significant increase. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that there is an effect of guided inquiry-based learning in improving the learning outcomes of Class VII Junior High School students in the matter of heat and its transfer.


6. PPENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA MELALUI PENERAPAN ALAT PERAGA CIRCULATORY BOTTLE

Abstract

This study proposed to describe the implementation of learning process, students’ responses, and learning outcomes especially in knowledge aspect using the circulatory bottle. This study used a pre-experimental with one group pretest posttest design. Samples consist of 17 students of VIII A class in SMP NU Bahrul Ulum Gresik in the Academic Year 2021/2022. The data were collected using observations, questionnaires, and tests with the instrument such as test assessment sheets, student response questionnaires, attitude, and learning implementation observation sheets. The results showed that: (a) the implementation of learning with circulatory bottle for each stage in three meetings got very good category; (b) the implementation of circulatory bottle got positive responses from students with very good category; (c) learning outcome of social attitude aspects which include cooperative, curiosity, responsibility were declared complete with good and very good predicates; (d) learning outcome in the knowledge aspect increased as evidenced by the average value of N-gain in high category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the circulatory bottle can increase learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the learning implementation of learning, improvement of critical thinking skills, and students’ response to the implementation of problem based learning model with socio-scientific issue on energy sources. This research used a pre-experimental design with one group pretest posttest design. The subject in this research were 30 students of VII C class in SMPN 42 Surabaya. Data were collected by observation, pretest and posttest, and questionnaires. The data was analyzed quantitatively. The research result showed that implementation of learning obtained high results with very good category in the first and second meeting. The critical thinking skills effectively improved with N-Gain score in medium category. The students gave a positive response and high interest in learning implementation. Based on the result, it can be concluded that implementation of problem based learning model with socio-scientific issue can improve students’ critical thinking skills.


8. ANALISIS INDIKATOR KEMERDEKAAN BELAJAR SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA SMP DI MASA PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the learning freedom implementation indicators on mechanisms of heat transfer. This type of research was a case study approach to find out how the teacher's role in the achievement of the learning freedom implementation. The sample in this study, namely 2 science teachers and 27 students of class VII G SMP Negeri 34 Surabaya. The instrument consisted of learning observation sheets, implementations of learning design, and questionnaires. Data obtained by interview, observation, and questionnaire methods were then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the study showed that: (1) Observation of the learning implementation with the learning freedom concept reached good criteria which showed that the students felt the learning freedom in their learning implementation; (2) The learning implementation carried out by the teacher reached good criteria which showed that most of the learning freedom concepts were implemented; and (3) Questionnaires given to teachers and students show that the learning freedom concept can be achieved for students, while some have not been achieved for teachers. Based on the results the implementation of the concept learning freedom, it can be concluded that this research was very influential on teaching and learning activities.


9. PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF DENGAN SIKLUS ACTIVITY, DISCUSSION, AND EXERCISE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the learning implementation, improvement of students’ learning outcomes, and students’ responses to the implementation of cooperative learning with the Activity, Discussion, and Exercise (ADE) cycle. This research used a pre-experimental with one group pretest and post-test design. The subject in this research were 30 students of VII-B SMPN 28 Surabaya. Data collection methods were by observations, tests, and questionnaires. The instruments used were observation sheets of learning implementation, tests, and students’ response questionnaires. The data analysis applied in this research were N-Gain and t-test to determine the improvement of students’ learning outcomes and Likert scale (percentage) on the implementation of learning and students’ response. The results indicated that the learning was carried out very well. The students’ learning outcome increased significantly with N-Gain score in moderate category. The students gave a positive response in learning implementation. The conclusion of this research was that the implementation of cooperative learning with the activity, discussion, and exercise cycle could improve the students’ learning outcome.


10. PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN PENGEMBANGAN SIKAP TOLERANSI DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN STRATEGI CYBERGOGY

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of cybergogy strategies implemented in blended learning to improve critical thinking ability and to develop students' tolerance attitude. This research used a one group pretest-posttest design and quantitative descriptive. The subject in this research were 16 students of VIII-I class in Junior High School 5 Gresik. The instruments in this research were test sheets and questionnaires. Data were collected by (1) pretest and posttest of critical thinking ability (2) questionnaire of students' tolerance attitude. The research results showed that there were improvements in students' critical thinking ability with a N-Gain score in medium category, and students' tolerance attitude has obtained a very tolerant category. The students gave a positive response in learning implementation. The conclusion of this research was that the cybergogy strategies could improve the students' critical thinking ability and develop to students' tolerance attitude.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students' science process skills by implementing guided inquiry-based learning. The method in this study was pre-experiment with one group pretest posttest design. The subject in this study were 17 students of VII A class in SMP Negeri 2 Taman. The result of this study showed that the implementation of the guided inquiry-based learning was in the very good category, the N-Gain score obtained through the pretest and posttest of science process skills was in the high category, and the implementation of the guided inquiry-based learning obtained responses from students with a very good category. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry-based learning implementation can improve students' science process skills on heat.


12. PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS BLENDED LEARNING DENGAN MODEL INKUIRI TERBIMBING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR

Abstract

This study proposed to describe the implementation of learning, students’ responses, and learning outcomes in aspects of attitude and knowledge based on blended learning with guided inquiry model. This research used a pre-experimental with one group pretest and posttest design. Subjects in this research were 32 students of VII-D class in SMPN 14 Gresik in the Academic Year 2021/2022. The data were collected using observations, questionnaires, and test in the form of learning implementation observation sheets, student response questionnaires, attitude assessment sheets, and test assessment sheets as instruments. The results showed that the learning process was good to excellent at every stage and the positive responses from students showed excellent categories. Learning outcomes of social attitudes, including cooperative attitudes, responsibility, conscientious attitudes, and discipline attitudes, were declared complete with a good and excellent predicate mode values. The result of N-Gain test analysis acquire in the medium category so that students learning outcomes experienced a significant increase. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that there is an effect of blended learning-based with a guided inquiry model in improving the learning outcomes on science learning of heat and its transfer.


13. PERSEPSI SISWA SMP TERHADAP PROBLEM ENVIRONMENTAL INPUT PENDIDIKAN PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the perception of Junior High School students on environmental problems of educational input in science learning. The type of this research was quantitative descriptive using survey methods. The number of samples used was 60 students in 8 grade with random sampling. This research used a distributing questionnaires as a data collection technique. The results of this research were the aspects of the state of the facilities and infrastructure in schools was classified as very high, in the aspect of learning facilities at home, the implementation of discipline in schools, student relationships with other school members was classified as high, while there were environmental problems of educational input that affect students in aspects parental education, relationships between family members, home atmosphere, and the learning process in schools was relatively low, resulting in learning difficulties and unsatisfactory results in science lessons.


14. PEMBELAJARAN MENGGUNAKAN MULTIMEDIA INTERAKTIF BERORIENTASI PADA MATERI ALIRAN ENERGI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN LITERASI SAINS SISWA

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effect of interactive multimedia in energy flow topics to improve students scientific literacy. The study was quantitative research with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 29 students of class VII-F SMPN 1 Bojonegoro. The instrument of this study were used observation sheets of learning implementation, student activities, student response questionnaires, and scientific literacy tests (pretest and posttest). The data were collected by observation, test, and questionnaire methods. The results of this study showed that there was an improvement of the students scientific literacy by using interactive multimedia in energy flow topics. The students scientific literacy was improved from pretest to posttest with an average of N-Gain score in medium categories. The improvement of students scientific literacy was supported by well-implemented interactive multimedia’s learning, so that it obtained a positive response from students and they did the scientific literacy activities well. So, it can be suggested that interactive multimedia can be applied to other topics.


15. PANALISIS KEMANDIRIAN BELAJAR SISWA SMP DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPA DI MASA PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the students’ learning independence in science learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research used a quantitative descriptive. The subjects in this research were 30 students of VIII-F class of State Junior High School 5 Gresik. The data collection technique used questionnaire sheets, interview sheets, and tests. The questionnaire sheets consisted of 30 statements of students’ learning independence, the interview sheet consisted of 12 questions which would be analyzed using NVivo software, the written test consisted of 10 multiple choices and 5 descriptions questions. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistic. The research results showed that all students had high learning independence with seven indicators of learning independence in high category and evaluating the process of learning indicator in very high category. The conclusion of this research was that the high level of students’ learning independence had an effect in science learning outcomes.


16. IDENTIFIKASI MISKONSEPSI DALAM MATERI SISTEM PERNAPASAN PADA SISWA SMP

Abstract

This research aimed to identify students' misconceptions about Respiratory System. This research was survey research involving 64 students of class VIII from two classes at Junior High School 5 Gresik who has just finished studying the Human Respiratory System. Data collection techniques through a test results, interviews, and document analysis includes analysis of science textbooks and student notebooks. The results showed that there were students' misconceptions about the Human Respiratory System consisted of the concepts of respiratory volume, respiratory mechanism, respiratory disorders, respiratory frequency, and respiratory organs. The research concluded that there were misconceptions in the Human Respiratory System with a low category. This was evidenced by the characteristics of various misconceptions with diverse characteristics so that it can be known that the cause of students' misconceptions themselves were the result of incomplete or incorrect reasoning.


17. KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS DALAM PEMBELAJARAN TATAP MUKA TERBATAS PADA SISWA SMP

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze students' science process skills (SPS) during limited face-to-face learning in one of the junior high schools in East Java province. The type of this study was descriptive quantitative research. The subjects in this study involved 35 students in VIII grade. The instrument used a science process skills test sheet. Data collection technique used was test that analyzed descriptively. The results of the SPS analysis of students in limited face-to-face learning obtained a score with a high ability category. The highest skill of students was on the indicator of classifying, while the lowest skill of students was on the indicator of formulating a problem. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the SPS level of students was in the high category so that it can be said that limited face-to-face learning affects the increase in the achievement of students' SPS with high scores.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of TGT learning model on improvement students’ cognitive learning outcomes in the human digestive system material and students’ responses to the TGT model. This research used a one group pretest posttest design. The data collection techniques used were test method to measure students’ learning outcomes, questionnaire method to determine students’ responses and observation method to measure learning implementation. The results of this research showed that there was an effect of TGT model on improvement students’ learning outcomes marked by the N-Gain score in high category. The implementation of the TGT model obtained responses from students with a very positive category and the learning implementation of the TGT model was in the very good category. The conclusion of this research was that the TGT learning model had an effect to improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes in the human digestive system material.


19. MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR ILMIAH PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VIII MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS MASALAH MATERI ZAT ADITIF

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the improvement of students' scientific thinking skills on additive material using problem-based learning model implemented in one of public Junior High Schools in Surabaya. This research design used one-group pretest-posttest. This research involved 36 students of class VIII. This research's data collection methods included observation, tests, and questionnaires. The results showed that the implementation of problem-based learning got the very good category from two meetings. The average normalized gain for all students in the medium category. The average normalized gain of students in each sub-indicator of scientific thinking ability, namely: inquiry and analysis, increased in the high category, while inference and argumentation increased in the medium category. The students' responses to problem-based learning got very good results. Therefore, it can be concluded that problem-based learning can improve scientific thinking skills on additive material.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the improvement of critical thinking skills and curiosities of Junior High School students’ in science learning using problem-based learning. This research design used one group pretest-postest. This research involved 33 students of class VIII-A of MTs Miftahul Ulum Magerari in Academic Year 2021/2022. This research’s data collection methods included observation , test, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research was quatitative statistics by using Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results showed that implementation of problem-based learning can improve critical thinking skills and student curiosities in science learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills using a guided inquiry learning model implemented in one of the public Junior High Schools in Gresik. This study was a pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this study involved 32 students in VII grade. Data collection techniques through a test and observation by applied in the form of written tests and student collaboration skills observation sheets as the instruments. The findings revealed that there was an improvement in the student’s critical thinking skills as evidenced by the average value of the N-Gain score in the high category. The result of the Wilcoxon test showed that student critical thinking skills were significantly better. Students’ collaboration skills were increased at each meeting, from a less collaborative to a very collaborative category. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry learning models implementation improved students’ critical thinking and collaboration skills.


22. PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA PADA MATERI SISTEM PENCERNAAN MANUSIA

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the problem based learning implementation model toward students' critical thinking skills on the material of human digestive system. This research used pre-experimental design with one group pretest posttest. The subjects’ in this research were 30 students’ of VIII C class in Junior High School Semen Gresik with 20 male students’ and 10 female students’. Data collection technique used questionnaires, pretest and posttest. The data was analyzed quantitatively. The results of the N-Gain calculation showed that the application of problem based learning model increased students' critical thinking skills on the human digestive system material with a high category. Descriptive analysis on learning activities by the given treatment had a high percentage result. The conclusion obtained was science learning using a problem based learning model on the human digestive system material can improve students’ critical thinking skills.


23. PENGGUNAAN MEDIA ELEKTRONIK DALAM PEMBELAJARAN DARING IPA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes through online learning electronic media. This was a pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. Data collected using written tests and response questionnaires. The learning outcomes data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test and calculated the N-Gain score. The results of this study, namely: (1) there was an increase in student learning outcomes as evidenced by the average N-Gain score on high criteria; (2) Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test results show a significant difference between pretest and posttest results. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the implementation of the science learning electronic media (E-PIPA) can improve student learning outcomes.


24. IMPLEMENTASI GUIDED INQUIRY LEARNING BERBANTUAN SIMULASI INTERAKTIF PhET UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students' science process skills by applying a guided inquiry learning model assisted by PhET interactive simulations in one of public Junior High School in Sidoarjo. This study used pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. This study involved 17 students of class VII D in the Academic Year 2021/2022. Data collection methods through a observation, questionnaire, and test. The instrument of this study used observation sheets of learning implementation, science process skills tests (pretest and posttest), and student response questionnaires. The results of this study showed that the learning implementation had been carried out very well at each meeting. The learning outcomes of students’ science process skills increased significantly, based on the analysis of the average N-gain score in the medium criteria. Students gave positive responses to the learning that has been done with very good criteria. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that the learning used a guided inquiry model assisted by PhET interactive simulations was able to improve students’ science process skills.
