Abstract

Road damage that occurred in various areas is a problem detrimental to road users, which is generally the cause of climate change and traffic load excessively repetitive. The influence of the current climate of the rainy season may result in puddles of water that can make the potholes, so that required a pavement in a porous cavity design that is porous asphalt. Porous asphalt is a type of porous pavement with a mixture of coarse aggregate is more dominant to increase the frictional forces and prevent ponding of water in the surface layer, but the weakness of the high void content makes the value of low stability. Another problem related to the binder used in road pavement is asphalt has experienced price increases as a result of rising world oil prices, therefore, as a successor can utilize of natural asphalt is Buton asphalt, which have advantages in the stability of the pavement is higher, so can equip of weakness for porous asphalt mixture.

In this research discusses about the influence of substitution Buton asphalt using products LGA (Lawele Granular Asphalt) into Asphalt of Penetration 60/70 to the porous asphalt mix, with the parameters of the marshall characteristics and permeability. Research carried out experimentally in the laboratory with penetration asphalt content 60/70 is 4%, 4.5%, 5%, 5.5%, 6%, and 6.5% for find the value of optimum bitumen content, and then substituted with content of LGA as much as 0%,  8%, 10% and 12% of the total weight of the asphalt mix.

The results showed that the porous asphalt mixture with gradation Japan acquired optimum asphalt content is 5.75%. Effect of substitution asbuton LGA in terms of the marshall characteristics does not meet the specifications for VIM and VMA value, so it can not meet the parameters for flexible pavement structures, and decreased value of the permeability with higher levels of asbuton LGA although they meet the specifications but instead can improve the performance stability. The percentage value LGA levels that produce the best porous asphalt mixture for stability at a level of 12% amounting to 615 kg, while the permeability at a level of 8% amounting to 0.3520 cm/sec.
