Abstract

The using of paving stone as construction material has increased beacause the price is more affordable and can be mass produced. Paving stone obtained by mixing fine aggregate, portland cement or hydraulic adhesive materials, other types of aggregates and water, or with other additives in a certain ratio. In the process of producing cement, CO2 eemissions occured into the air resulting in the depletion of the ozone layer of the earth, cause the greenhouse effect on the environment on earth that are familiar with the term global warming (Davidovits, 1994). To reduce the production of cement increasing, then created a new alternative binder. Geopolymer concrete is a type of concrete that is 100% not using cement. Materials used are type C fly ash and chalk, activated by alkaline activator liquid Na2SiO3 and NaOH ratio of 1.5 Molarity NaOH used is 10M. Results from the study showed that the optimum composition which has the highest compressive strength ratio is the proportion of 70%: 30% to the value of 20.50 MPa pressure and permeability values by 9%. Paving stone with the maximum proportion of paving stone was classified as a Type B according to SNI.

Keywords : chalk, compresive strength, fly ash, geopolymer, permeability.
