Concrete roof as roof covering material has been widely produced and used by the public. In the manufacturing process at the factory, concrete roof sometimes has production failures, in the form of cracks or broken, this makes the roof can no longer be used and becomes trash. To take advantage of this unused roof , an innovation was made to recycle these broken pieces into concrete roof that can be reused as roof coverings, as for the purpose of this research it is to use the GDU (recycled concrete roof) as a new alternative material to a concrete roof that has stanardizedd quality SNI 0096 : 2007.

The results of GDU testing on the visible characteristics, show varying results based on each percentage. While the results of testing the flexural strength obtained optimum results at a variable percentage of 6% namely 2976 N greater than the control variable that is 2116 N these results has meet the requirements of SNI 0096: 2007, which is greater than or equal to1200 N. The results of testing on water absorption at a variable percentage of 3% indicate the result is smaller than the control variable that is 6,13% while the control variable is 8,20%. Therefore the result has meets the SNI 0096: 2007 requirement which is less than 10%. For the results of tests on the relationship between flexural strength and water absorption, indicates that the smaller the water absorption, the greater the flexural strength produced, and the greater water absorption occurs at the smaller flexural strength. For the water absorption of recycled tile roof for 12% and 15% do not meet the requirements of SNI 0096: 2007 because it is less than 10%.
