PEMBUATAN KOMPOSIT KITOSAN ALUMINA SEBAGAI AGEN FIKSASI ZAT WARNARODAMIN B PADA KAIN KATUNSYNTHESIS OF CHITOSAN ALUMINA COMPOSITE AS FIXATION AGENT FORRODHAMIN B DYE ON COTTON FABRICS

Abstract

Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini tentang pembuatan dan karakterisasi komposit kitosan alumina sebagai agen
fiksasi zat warna rodamin B pada kain katun. Pembuatan komposit kitosan alumina dilakukan dengan cara
mencampurkan kitosan dengan sol alumina yang dibuat dari prekursor aluminium isopropoksida dengan
perbandingan volume 3:7. Karakterisasi komposit kitosan alumina dilakukan menggunakan
spektrofotometer FTIR. Pelapisan kain dengan agen fiksasi berupa komposit dan zat warna dilakukan
dengan 3 variasi metode pencelupan dan teknik pad-dry-cure. Kain yang telah terlapisi komposit dan zat
warna dikarakterisasi dengan analisis DRUV, SEM dan Uji Kekuatan Mekanik. Hasil analisis FTIR
menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi penurunan intensitas kitosan dengan penambahan alumina pada pita
serapan 3433 cm-1 sampai 3448 cm-1 dan terdapat serapan khas vibrasi ulur gugus Al-O-Al pada bilangan
gelombang 617 cm-1 serta pada bilangan gelombang 1080 cm-1 dan 478 cm-1 menandakan bahwa Al-O
berhasil terintegrasi dengan kitosan pada komposit. Hasil kain yang dilapisi komposit kitosan alumina dan
zat warna dari metode A memiliki persen leaching (pelepasan zat warna) terendah yaitu sebesar 3,18 %.
Dari hasil SEM dapat terlihat bahwa komposit kitosan alumina telah berhasil melapisi serat dan antar serat
kain.

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to prepare and characterize chitosan alumina composites as fixation
agent of rhodamine B dye on cotton fabric. The preparation of chitosan alumina composite was done with
sol gel method by mixing chitosan into alumina sol which were made from aluminum isopropoxide precursor
with a ratio of volume 3:7. Chitosan alumina composite was characterized by FTIR spectrophotometer.
Coating fabric with fixation agents such as composite and the dye was done with 3 variations dyeing
methods and techniques pad-dry-cure. The fabrics which has been coated with composite and dye were
characterized by DRUV analysis, SEM and mechanical strength test. The FTIR analysis results showed that
there has been a decrease in the intensity of chitosan with the addition of alumina in the absorption band
3433 cm-1 to 3448 cm-1 and are typical stretching vibration absorption group Al-O-Al at wave number 617
cm-1 and the wave number 1080 cm-1 and 478 cm-1 indicates that the Al-O successfully integrated with
chitosan in the composite. The results of coated chitosan alumina composite fabrics and dye from method A
more than lowest leaching percent (deliverance dye) with 3,18%. From the SEM analysis can be seen that
the chitosan alumina composite managed fairly evenly coat the fibers and between fiber.
