Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Character Jurnal Penelitian Psikologi accepts research based and literature review articles from all topics in basic and applied psychology. 

  • All articles submitted to this journal should be original works. Authors have fully understood that by submitting their articles in this journal, they acknowlegde that they have the rights in the works, that they are submitting the works for first publication in this Journal and that the articles are not being considered for publication elsewhere and have not already been published elsewhere. and that they have obtained and can supply all necessary permissions for the reproduction of any copyright works not owned by them.
  • Articles are written in Indonesian or English, typed with Microsoft Word program, Times New Roman letter 12 pt size, single spaced, doubled column, printed on A4 paper for maximum 20 pages.   • Submission of manuscripts is made by submitting to Open Journal System (OJS). Before submitting the manuscripts, authors should first register as an author.Please see the details of submitting your manuscripts in this link: https://journal.unesa.ac.id/index.php/jptt/about/submissions
  • For research based articles, the structure as follows:
    • The title
    • Author name and institution
    • Abstract with keywords
    • Introduction
    • Method
    • Result
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion, and Suggestions (if any). Suggestion should be be separated from 'Conlusion' if it covers more detail recommendation.
    • References
  • The name of the author of the article is listed without an academic degree, with the name of the institution of origin, and placed under the title of the article. The primary author should include a correspondence or e-mail addresses
  • Abstracts and keywords are written in two languages (Indonesian and English). The length of each abstract is around 120-200 words, while the number of keywords is 3-5 words or a combination of words. Abstract of literature review or conceptual articles contain at least the statement problem, purpose, discussion and conclusion. Abstract of research articles contain the article purpose, method, result, discussion, and conclusion and suggestion (if any).
  • The introductory section of articles contains backgrounds, state of the art of the topic under study, literature review, and objectives. The entire introductory section is presented in an integrated form in paragraphs, with a length of 15-20% of the total length of the article.
  • The method section (for research articles) consists of research design, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis. Literature review or conceptual articles may not have method section.The method section are expressed in paragraph form 10-15% of the total length of the article.
  • The result section of research article presents data result and analysis related to the research question. The result section can be integrated with the discussion section. The discussion section contains the meaning of results and comparison with the theory and/or the results of relevant previous research. The length of the exposure results and the discussion of 40-60% of the total length of the article. Literature review or conceptual articles may not have result section.
  • For literature review or conceptual articles, the discussion section contains solutions to problems that are presented systematically and logically based on the results of the relevant references reviewed. All parts of the discussion section are expressed in paragraph around 70% of the total length of the article.
  • The conclusion section contains concise restatement and reassertion of research findings that answers to research questions (for research articles). For literature review or conceptual articles, conclusion section  presents the essence of the discussion. The conclusions are presented in paragraph form.The suggestion (if any) should be integrated in conclusion section under the sub-title "Conclusion and Suggestions" (Indonesian: Simpulan dan Saran) if it only cover brief recommendation (usually in two or three sentences). The suggestion section can be separated from the conclusion section if it covers more detailed recommendations (i.e. more than one or two paragraphs).
  • All referenced sources must be listed in the references. The reference style of American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition should be used in writing the references. The literature sources used should be dominated by primary sources from both national and international peer-reviewed and indexed journals and should be recent literatures which are published in the last 10 years at least.
  • All references that have Digital Object Identifier (DOI), the DOI link addresses should be written clearly. 
  • The references are structured and sorted alphabetically and chronologically.
  • All references should be written using reference management sofwares: Mendeley or Endnote.
  • Citation should use caged quotation technique i.e. (last name, year) or last name (year). The inclusion of a source of a direct quotation should be accompanied by a description of the page number from which the quotation originated. Example: (Smith, 2009, p. 47) or Smith (2009, pp. 47-48).
  • All manuscripts are reviewed anonymously by reviewers appointed by editors based on their fields of expertise. The authors are given the opportunity to revise and improve their manuscripts based on the recommendations or suggestions from reviewers or editors. The certainty of loading or rejection of the text will be notified via electronic mail.
  • Anything involving licensing of quotations or the use of computer software for the making of manuscripts or other issues related to the intellectual property rights of the author of the article, and any legal consequences which may arise thereof, shall be the sole responsibility of the author of the article.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

  1. The author transfers copyright to the journal by signing a copyright transfer agreement
  2. The author retains patent and trademark rights, and rights to any process, procedure, or article of manufacture described in the article.
