PENGALAMAN KONVERSI AGAMA PADA MUALLAF TIONGHOA

Abstrak
Sebagian besar etnis Tionghoa di Indonesia menganut agama dari nenek moyang mereka, seperti Kristen, Konghuchu, dan Budha. Hanya sebagian kecil dari etnis Tionghoa yang memeluk agama Islam, dan ketka mereka memeluk Islam mereka menjadi minoritas diantara komunitas Tionghoa. Mereka yang menjadi minoritas diantara minoritas, sangat penting untuk diteliti. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengalaman konversi agama yang dilakukan, perubahan psikologis, dan hubungan sosial pada muallaf Tionghoa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenologis. Partisipan penelitian ini berjumlah lima orang muallaf Tionghoa, dan data penelitian ini didapatkan dengan wawancara semi terstruktur. Kemudian hasilnya dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Fenomenologis Interpretatif (AFI). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada empat masalah utama yang dialami oleh partisipan, yaitu menuju proses konversi agama, saat konversi agama, setelah mejadi muallaf, dan perubahan diri. Secara umum, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa partisipan mengalami perubahan yang terjadi tidak hanya pada dirinya, namun juga pada interaksi sosialnya.

Abstract
Majority Chinese people in Indonesia hold their ancestor religion, such as Christian, Confucian, and Budhism. Only a little part of this community hold Islam as their religion, so that when they become a muslim they have become a minority among minority. They who have become one, are important to be studied. Religious convertion to Islam that Chinese people did, could gave them social and psychology problems. This studied purposely to explore the experience of religious convertion among Chinese individual based on psychological perpectives. This study employed phenomenological method. The participants in this study are five Chinese converts to Islam. Data in this study collected using semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The result in this study showed there are four main issues that experienced by participants of this study,namely process toward religious convertion, moment when religious convertion, after become Muslim converts, and self changing. In general, this tudy conclude that all of the participants experienced changes that occur not only in themselves, but also on their social interactions
